Trekking through the Wolves´path, along the awesome off the beaten track route that has been programmed suitable for all walkers, to the magnificent Nervion Fall, the highest waterfall in Spain; discover the ancient City of Orduña, the only city that holds the title in Bizkaia and as an option, you can  take the historical walk through the profile of the mountain, up to Mount San Pedro´s trenches, the best preserved Civil War landscape in the Basque Country. SUGGESTED ITINERARY
DAY 1. FRIDAY

Group check in Baserri Ulle Gorri.  Depending on the time available, trekking  guided route (option Nordic Walking) through the Sea of Meadows surrounding the  country house, to enjoy the sunset, visit the pretty village of Untza and its Txoko (basque social center). Accommodation in the Baserri Ulle Gorri.

DAY 2. SATURDAY

After breakfast we start the trekking route (Nordic Walking option)  starting from Ulle Gorri “with the boots on” to walk  through the  Wolves´path.

This is an “off the beaten path”  that  runs at the edge of the sierra through spectacular landscapes that will take us to Nervión source, passing through the unknown and mysterious Gibijo’s wolfhound.

Following the course of the river we will finally arrive to the impressive Nervión Fall.  After heavy rains or during the thaw, the waterfall, which plunges into the Delika Canyon from more than 220 meters, the highest in Spain, is impressive. And although for several months it does not carry water, the route and the landscapes are spectacular.

We will discover Mount Santiago, avoiding the busiest areas, through beautifully paved forest.

In the afternoon, a guided and exclusive visit to the city of Urduña / Orduña, the only one of the Bizkaian territory that holds such title. Located in a place of singular beauty, it`s a crossroads and its strategic position has allowed it to witness the changes and the evolution of history.

We propose a guided tour in the ancient city that dates from 1229 AD, covering the most important moments of its history.

Return in minivan to the country house  and accommodation.

“With our boots on” from the Baserri Ulle Gorri, we begin our route through grassland paths that run through stone walls and through paths with magnificent views of the Sierra Salvada, Orduña and the Arrastaria Valley

The quiet path  along the sea of meadows, crosses a gallery forest on the edge of the profile of the Mountain. The path takes us to the  recently excavated trenches of San Pedro Mountain, in one of best preserved Spanish Civil War  landscapes in the Basque Country. It has kept the same landscape than 80 years ago.

Aiaraldea, Ayala´s Chancellor lands guided & exclusive  historical route

Historical route along Ayala Valley, made up of  24 villages dotted with tower houses, religious and civil monuments and hamlets, many of them true architectural gems.

The Monumental Complex of Quejana stands out as a fortified palace, built in the 14th century by the father of the most outstanding Alava diplomat and writer in the history of the Basque Country and the most celebrated chancellor in the history of Spain, Ayala´s Chancellor.

The visit to Artziniega, a monumental complex that keeps a rich historical center that preserves its medieval layout, emblazoned facades, stately homes and towers, Renaissance and Baroque palaces, as well as a fantastic Ethnographic Museum.

Exclusive  guided tour to the medieval city of Vitoria – Gasteiz

The visit to the Historical Center of Vitoria-Gasteiz, declared a Monumental Complex in 1997, and which has received numerous awards, will take us to places where history seems to have stopped.

It retains intact its medieval layout in the form of almond, which was given more than 8 centuries ago, when Sancho VI “El Sabio” founded the town.

Accommodation

Ulle Gorri is a beautiful basque farmhouse, situated in an ideal location to explore The Land of the Basques with a small group of friends and/or family. The  house is rented complete and exclusively for the group.

“Baserri” or “caserío” is a traditional basque farmhouse. Ulle Gorri has been restored recovering old original materials, giving the house a unique personality that seduces our guests. The restored antique furniture, the magnificent doors and the precious earthen pottery, which belonged to an ancient palace of the area, make Ulle Gorri a very special place to rest and enjoy.

Great location: less than 20 minutes from Vitoria, 40 minutes from Bilbao and La Rioja and only an hour and 15 minutes from Donosti (San Sebastián) or Pamplona and with easy access just 10 minutes away from the motorway exit.

It has a large living room with fireplace, a beautiful kitchen and 5 double bedrooms with 4 bathrooms distributed over two floors. On the lower floor a bedroom with a double bed and an insuite bathroom and on the upper floor a suite with a double bed, a bathroom and a small hall, a bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom insuite and two double rooms with two single beds. The rooms on the top floor have views over the countryside.

Trekking Routes
During the exclusive guided tours”with your boots on”,  starting from Ulle Gorri baserri you will discover our nearest environment, off the beaten path and away from the busiest routes.

Also the customs, histories and traditions, with or without Nordic walking poles and always enjoying the special moment in contact with nature and  history.

The landscapes surrounding the hamlet are flat and allow a spectacular panoramic view of the mountains that surround it. Between ravines, the lands settle down creating a gigantic meadow with a mosaic of walls grids organizing a beautiful drawing of pastures. A Sea of ​​ Meadows, with  paths excellent for Nordic Walking and trekking , running  through a corridor of stone walls, between horses and flocks of sheep latxa.

It´s a privileged environment, surrounded by three natural spaces of the Natura 2000 Network:  Gorbea Natural Park, Arkamo-Gibijo-Arrastaria mountain ranges and the Oak Forests of Urkabustaiz.

Around 160 pairs of vultures nest on the walls of Arrastaria.

It is common to watch vultures, kites, herons, storks and many other birds.  In addition to roe deer, badgers, foxes, etc.
