A must-see, off the beaten path
The Basque coast is full of stunning and dramatic scenery, along with typical fishing villages that you will love to discover.
This is our initial tour proposal that can be customized, to be a tour tailored specifically to you.
The first place to visit will be Gernika, home of one of the oldest parliaments in the world. It is a symbol for the Basque people and also the ideal place to discover the history of our land. You will be visiting the local market, where the local producers meet every Monday.
Continuing along the coast, we will reach the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, where we will stop to enjoy the amazing views of the beaches of Laida and Laga and will be able to enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches in the area. Bring your swimsuit , as if the weather permits you could have a nice swim in the Gulf of Biscay.
Travelers interested in doing some hiking to admire the views of the Urdaibai Natural Reserve, we offer an optional 2 hour extension, to reach the top of the mountain. It is an easy hike and well worth the effort.

We can also stop at the Bird Center and take a walk through the marshes if you were interested.
We will explore Bermeo, a typical and once important fishing village to learn about the history and traditions of the area. These waters were sailed by pirates and were also the scene of some important naval battles in our history.
Our journey continues to Mundaka, a beautiful village worldwide known for the surfers for its “Left Wave”.
It´s amazing to watch the surfers riding the enormous waves from the charming village.
For lunch you can either chose to have lunch in a typical restaurant to enjoy the local gastronomy, mostly fish based and away from tourist traps or have some pintxos to have more time to enjoy the visit.
